Slovak Foreign Minister Blanar: EU should not take on the entire burden of aid to Ukraine
The European Union should not assume the entire burden of aid to Ukraine if it is stopped by Donald Trump from the US, Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar said.
‘If US President Donald Trump stops support for Ukraine, the entire burden on its shoulders should not be taken by the European Union. Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar thinks so,’ Slovak news agency TASR said in a report.
In November 2024, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said that some European politicians were suggesting that the EU should take full financial responsibility for Ukraine if the US stopped providing aid to Kiev. Fico said at the time that Slovakia would not approve such initiatives.
