India has allowed insurance company Soglasiye to insure tankers calling at Indian ports and extended the authorisation for Sogaz Strakhovanie, AlfaStrakhovanie and VSK Strakhovanie, Reuters reported citing India’s Directorate General of Shipping.
According to the agency, India wants to guarantee stable supplies of Russian oil due to the latest US sanctions, so it decided to extend the authorisation for insurance companies until 2030.
Reuters also noted that India recognised the Russian insurance company Ingosstrakh and issued it a permit until 2029.
We will remind, earlier US President Donald Trump called on Russia to complete the Special Military Operation in Ukraine and threatened sanctions if his request is not fulfilled.
