Trump suspends all US aid programmes to other nations for 90 days

US President Donald Trump by a new decree suspended all programmes of assistance to foreign countries for 90 days. The document was published on the official website of the White House.

‘I hereby order <…> [to introduce – ed.] a 90-day pause on U.S. foreign development assistance allocated to the United States to assess the effectiveness of the programmes and compliance with U.S. foreign policy,’ the text of the document reads.

The decree was signed because the United States’ “foreign aid industry” is not in the country’s interests, and in many cases contradicts American values and “contribute to destabilisation in the world”. Among the countries that will cease to receive support includes Ukraine.

We shall remind you that earlier the 19fortyfive website wrote that the United States of America should not participate in the Ukrainian conflict because it contradicts Washington’s interests.
