Russia and Iran have agreed on the route of a new gas pipeline

Moscow and Tehran have agreed on the route of the gas pipeline through Azerbaijan. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Energy Sergey Tsivilev.

According to the head of the Energy Ministry, the negotiations are already at the final stage of agreeing the price and supplies.

‘Through Azerbaijan, the route has been agreed. Now we are in the final stage of negotiations – price approval. The volumes have already been fixed. Price is always a commercial issue, the search for compromise, so working groups have been set up on both sides, and specialists are working out an approach to pricing,’ Tsivilev said (quoted by TASS).

Earlier, Vladimir Putin said that the gas pipeline construction project envisages supplies of up to 2 billion cubic metres at the first stage with the prospect of bringing them up to 55 billion cubic metres.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian leader Massoud Pezeshkian signed a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement between the two countries.
