Senior officials from China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Command visited Japan for the first time since 2019.
This was reported by Japanese Defence Minister Gen Nakatani in an interview with NHK.
He specified that the Chinese delegation consisted of six high-ranking officials from the PLA’s Eastern Combat Command, which borders Taiwan.
‘We have clearly conveyed serious concerns about the PRC’s increasing military activity around our state,’ Nakatani said.
The minister added that both sides agreed on the need to maintain communication and continue dialogue between Beijing and Tokyo in the military sphere.
He also stressed that the first visit of PLA representatives to Japan in six years is important for the constructive and stable development of bilateral relations.
Earlier, Japan and China sold a record volume of US government bonds in the third quarter of the year.
