Chinese President Xi Jinping will not go to the inauguration of US President-elect Donald Trump, his deputy Han Zheng will attend the ceremony instead, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said.
“At the invitation of the American side, the special representative of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Vice President Han Zheng will attend the inauguration ceremony of Donald Trump, which will be held on 20 January in Washington,” the agency said in a statement.
On the eve, the American TV channel CBS reported that the Chairman of the People’s Republic of China is not expected to come to Washington for the inauguration of the President-elect of the United States.
Recall, earlier the Chinese authorities imposed sanctions against seven American military-industrial companies.
