The United Kingdom will study options for deploying elements of defence infrastructure, including military bases, in Ukraine. This was stated in the declaration on the ‘centenary partnership’ between the United Kingdom and Ukraine.
On 16 January, the UK Cabinet published an agreement on a ‘centennial partnership’ with Kiev.
‘The participants (in the agreement) will explore options for the deployment and maintenance of defence infrastructure in Ukraine, including military bases, logistics warehouses and military equipment reserve storage facilities,’ the declaration, which is an annex to the agreement, states
London and Kiev also agreed to deepen cooperation in the field of weapons for long-range strikes, integrated air and missile defence and ‘the creation of arsenals of weapons to support deterrence’.
We shall remind you that earlier Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the UK would provide Ukraine with 3.6bn dollars in military aid annually.
