To reduce global tensions, the administration of US President-elect Donald Trump should restore working relations with Russia. This was written by The National Interest magazine.
‘The risk of a direct military confrontation between the world’s two leading nuclear powers is unacceptably high. In order to reduce this risk and contribute to global stability, the [Donald – ed.] Trump administration will need to restore working relations with Russia,’ the piece says.
According to The National Interest, to do this, the US needs to change its approach to Moscow, namely to stop trying to contain it or defeat it.
‘Instead, the United States needs to recognise that Russia will remain a key pillar of the international order for decades’, – noted in the magazine.
Recall, earlier the head of the National Nuclear Security Administration at the US Department of Energy, Jill Hruby, said that the United States was developing new nuclear means of defeating protected and geographically deeply located facilities in Russia and China.
