Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed hope that US President-elect Donald Trump will be able to put pressure on Russia and put an end to the ongoing conflict as early as 2025. This is reported by the agency Tavria, referring to the a Zelenskyy’s interview with Polish media.
Zelenskyy said that Trump really wants to end the war and is able to “put pressure” on Russia. He also emphasized that the American president could force Putin to use diplomacy to end the war.
The president of Ukraine called for the provision of “serious security guarantees” to Ukraine, which will serve not only to protect Europe, but also become a “signal for Russia.” According to him, Moscow should understand that “Ukrainians will be able to defend themselves and other countries” in case of aggression.
