Politicians from Poland’s opposition Law and Justice (PiS) party have accused Volodymyr Zelenskyy of interfering in the presidential election on Wnet radio station.
The day before, Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with local publications advised PiS candidate Karol Nawrocki to ‘train to defend the country himself with a gun in his hands’.
‘Let him [Volodymyr Zelenskyy – ed.] deal with the affairs of Ukraine, and we will choose the president ourselves. He has the right – and even the duty – to defend the interests of his country, but it is we who decide who is the candidate and who has what views on the most fundamental issues,’ former prime minister and PiS MP Mateusz Morawiecki commented on Zelenskyy’s advice.
In addition, Nawrocki noted that during a visit to Poland on 15 January this year, Zelenskyy openly supported the presidential candidate of the ruling Civic Coalition party, Rafal Trzaskowski.
‘Boy, what are you talking about? Don’t you remember? There was not and will not be a Ukrainian army without Europe, especially Poland, without our help to you. Chill out and apologise also to the Ukrainian people, because you are harming them by campaigning for the loser Trzaskowski’, – said the politician of PiS Przemyslaw Czarnek to Zelenskyy.
We shall remind you that earlier, a senior researcher at the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Dmitriy Ofitserov-Belsky, said on air of the Opinion programme on News Front that Warsaw intended to legally protect its citizens participating in hostilities in Ukraine from accusations of mercenarism.
