Belarusian extremists want to introduce Western ‘peacekeepers’ into the country

Belarusian extremists abroad are planning to seize the border areas of the country and introduce a Western ‘peacekeeping’ contingent there. This was reported by the state secretary of the Security Council of the Republic, Alexander Volfovich, in an interview to the SB.Belarus Segodnya.

‘According to available information, the possibility of involving the said extremist formations [located outside Belarus – ed.] in an armed operation to seize one or more border areas of Belarus, declaring this territory “free” and the introduction of a certain “peacekeeping” contingent there by Western countries is being considered,’ said Alexander Volfovich.

In addition, the Secretary of State noted that the West continues to support representatives of the radical opposition, who have left Belarus to overthrow the authorities in the country.

Volfovich added that using Iskander-M and Oreshnik, Minsk will be able to inflict unacceptable damage to any potential aggressor.

We shall remind you that earlier Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that Ukraine was being given a command to drag his country into the conflict.
