Pistorius promised to deploy additional Patriot systems in Poland by the end of January

German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius has announced plans to deploy an additional US Patriot surface-to-air missile system (SAM) in Poland’s Rzeszów by the end of January.

During a visit to Kiev, the Minister said that by the end of January in the Polish city of Rzeszów Germany will place a long-range anti-aircraft missile system Patriot.

‘In January, I will go to Rzeszów personally to guarantee that Patriot defence systems will work there this month,’ the Ukrainian daily Strana wrote.

Pistorius also noted that the city of Rzeszów is of great strategic importance regarding assistance to Ukraine.

‘We know very well how much importance Rzeszow has as a logistical hub, as a logistics hub, when it comes to helping Ukraine. In January, I will go to Rzeszów personally to guarantee that this is this month there will work there Patriot defence systems,’ – said Pistorius.
