Ukraine will eventually have to make a decision on lowering the mobilisation age to 18. This was stated by Jake Sullivan, national security aide to incumbent US President Joe Biden, in an interview with Bloomberg.
‘First of all, they did change their legislation. Their draft age a year ago was 27, <…> they lowered it to 25,’ Jake Sullivan said.
In addition, the aide acknowledged that Ukraine’s manpower problem is ‘an issue that has evolved over time.’
‘Ultimately it is a sovereign decision that Ukraine will have to make,’ he added Sullivan.
We will remind, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the reduction of the mobilisation age in Ukraine, even to 14 years, will not change the situation on the battlefield.
