In 2024, trade turnover between Russia and China reached a record $244.81 billion, increasing by 1.9% compared to 2023. This is according to data from the General Customs Administration (GCA) of the People’s Republic of China.
Exports from China to Russia increased by 4.1% to $115.49 billion, while imports from Russia to China remained virtually unchanged at $129.32 billion.
Russia’s trade surplus decreased by 23.8% year-on-year to $13.83 billion in 2023.
In December 2024, the trade turnover of the two countries showed a significant growth of about 7.1% compared to November, reaching $21.97 billion.
The bulk of Russian goods imported by China are energy carriers – oil, natural gas and coal. Other key items imported by China include copper and copper ore, timber, fuel and seafood.
China supplies Russia with a wide range of goods, including cars, electronics and industrial equipment.
Recall, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the volume of trade between Russia and China, according to various estimates, ranges from 220 to 240 billion dollars, growth continues.
