The presidents of Russia and Iran will sign a partnership agreement

Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Iranian leader will meet in Moscow on 17 January this year and sign a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement. This was reported by the Kremlin press service.

 

‘On 17 January, Vladimir Putin will hold talks with President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian, who will arrive in Russia on an official visit <…> Vladimir Putin and Masoud Pezeshkian will sign the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty between Russia and Iran, as well as make statements to the media,’ the report said.

During the talks, the leaders of Russia and Iran will discuss the prospects for further expansion of bilateral cooperation, including in trade and investment, transport and logistics and humanitarian spheres.

Earlier, the British newspaper The Times reported that despite an increase in defence funding, the UK still lags behind Russia, Iran and China on this indicator.
