Oil prices jump amid U.S. sanctions – Reuters

Brent and WTI oil prices rose to their highest values in the past few months, reaching $81.11 and $77.97 per barrel, respectively, amid new US sanctions against Russian oil. This was reported by Reuters.

The price rise was due to the introduction of new US sanctions against Russian oil. The price of Brent jumped by $1.35 per barrel on 13 January, having previously reached the level of August prices – $81.44.

US West Texas Intermediate oil rose by $1.40 to $77.97 per barrel, which was the highest price since the first half of October.

Recall, earlier RIA Novosti news agency reported that in November 2024, the United States significantly increased imports of aircraft components from Russia, reaching the maximum value since February 2022 – 7.6 million dollars.
