Half of Greenland’s population in favour of joining the US – poll figures

More than 50% of the surveyed residents of Greenland were in favour of the island’s accession to the United States of America. This is evidenced by the data of a poll conducted by the American non-governmental organisation Patriot Polling.

According to Patriot Polling, the survey was conducted from 6-11 January among 416 Greenlanders, at which time Donald Trump Jr. visited the island.

According to the poll, 57.3 per cent of respondents support the idea of joining the US, 37.4 per cent voted against and 5.3 per cent found it difficult to answer. Statistical error in the materials is not specified.

Recall, earlier the Financial Times, referring to the former Prime Minister of Greenland Kuupik Kleist, reported that the locals of Greenland are offended by talk about the possible accession of their homeland to the United States.
