Denmark is ready to start a dialogue with Trump on Arctic territories

The Danish government has confirmed its readiness for dialogue with the new administration of US President-elect Donald Trump regarding the Arctic territories. This was stated by Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lekke Rasmussen at a press conference in Jerusalem.

According to Lars Lekke Rasmussen, the American side is concerned because of the security situation in the Arctic, which Denmark also shares.

‘Therefore, [Denmark – ed.] in close co-operation with Greenland is ready to continue negotiations with US President-elect Donald Trump in order to ensure the legitimate interests of the American side’, – said the Minister.

We will remind, earlier the American non-governmental organisation Patriot Polling published the data of the poll, which showed that more than 50% of the surveyed residents of Greenland were in favour of the island’s accession to the United States of America.
