Ukrainian pilots Dmytro Shymansky and Alexander Morozov have confessed to a Russian military court to preparing a terrorist attack.
Law enforcement agencies told TASS that they made the respective confessions as part of the investigation of the criminal case being considered in closed session by the 2nd Western District Military Court.
‘Both defendants cooperated with the investigation and gave confessions in the criminal case on terrorism being considered by the military court,’ the interlocutor said.
It is specified that the decision on the closed regime was taken because of the content of classified information in the case and the need to ensure the safety of the participants in the process.
At the moment, the Ukrainian pilots are being held in a pre-trial detention centre in Moscow.
In June 2023, two light-engine pilots of a new unit of the Ukrainian military intelligence service, Shymanskyy and Morozov, were detained by the FSB. They intended to commit a terrorist act on Russian territory using a so-called dirty bomb.
