Taipei Times: Taiwan to deploy NASAMS air defence systems in the north of the island

Taiwan will deploy NASAMS air defence systems purchased from the US in the north of the island.

According to the Taipei Times, the air defence systems will be deployed in Taipei’s Sunshan district and Tamsui Xinbei district.

It is noted that the systems could be delivered by the end of this year.

Earlier, Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui said in an article written for RIA Novosti that it is time for the US to stop playing the ‘Taiwan card’ and destabilising the situation in the region.

The diplomat also noted that China is closer than ever to achieving the goal of reunification with Taiwan.
