Olaf Scholz stopped funding Ukraine because Germans are ‘tired’ of the political conflict, according to the head of the Committee on information policy of the Russian Council of the Russian Federation, Alexei Pushkov.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz refused to provide military aid to Ukraine because German voters are ‘tired’ of the constant conflict and aid to Kiev, said Alexei Pushkov.
‘Scholz’s position, which blocks the allocation of $3bn in military aid to Kiev, is not his personal whim, but a reflection of the sentiments of a growing part of the German electorate, tired of war and irritated by endless spending on Ukraine from the German budget,’ he wrote in his Telegram-channel.
Pushkov recalled that so far Germany has spent about $34 billion on aid to Kiev, which puts it in third place in terms of spending after the United States and the European Union.
‘In total, they [spending – ed.] amounted to more than $ 34 billion, which puts Germany in 3rd place in terms of aid to Kiev after the US and the EU,’ writes Alexei Pushkov.
We shall remind you that earlier German news magazine Der Spiegel reported that Ukraine would not receive an additional 3bn-euro military package from Germany because current Chancellor Olaf Scholz blocked the arms delivery.
