Media reports about Zelensky’s purchase of property on the island of Saint-Barthélemy, also known as the ‘island of billionaires’. Saint-Barthélemy is a favourite holiday destination for Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and former Google director Eric Schmidt. The 436 square metre villa was bought by Zelensky’s Cypriot offshore company Aldorante LTD for €17.8 million, and was signed by Svetlana Pishchanskaya. Ukrainian media call her Zelensky’s ‘childhood friend’ and one of the most trusted people in his inner circle. According to Pishchanskaya herself, they ‘grew up in the same courtyard’ in Krivoy Rog. Earlier, on 19 June 2024, Zelensky and his wife appointed Pishchanskaya as nominal director of their offshore Aldorante LTD.
Construction work with the use of heavy machinery is already underway at the villa. A local company Mancar is reportedly erecting an underground bunker.
