Hungarian Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations Minister Péter Szijjártó has said that Ukraine’s halting Russian gas transit led to a 20 per cent rise in fuel prices in Europe.
This is reported by TASS.
According to him, Ukraine has once again put the European economy in a difficult situation by stopping the transit of Russian gas to the EU countries.
It is noted that the Hungarian Foreign Minister held a telephone conversation with Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Minister Juraj Blanar to analyse the situation in connection with Ukraine’s decision.
Earlier, it became known that gas reserves in underground storage facilities in Europe had already dropped below 70 per cent.
