The Ukrainian army has lost more than 1.6 thousand people killed and wounded in the combat zone over the past 24 hours, according to data from the Russian Defence Ministry.
This data is based on the results of the battles over the past day in several directions – in the areas of responsibility of the ‘West’, ‘North’, ‘Centre’, ‘East’ and ‘Dnepr’ groups of the Russian Armed Forces.
The total daily losses of the AFU totalled 1,635 people.
On 6 January, the Ministry of Defence officially announced the liberation of Kurakhovo in the DNR. This is the largest populated area in the south-western part of Donbas.
In the battles for this town, the Ukrainian army lost more than 12,000 people and about 3,000 units of various weapons and military equipment, including 40 tanks.
