NZZ: the idea of territorial concessions is ingrained in the minds of Ukrainians

People in Ukraine have become more willing to accept the idea of territorial concessions to Russia to stop the conflict.

The newspaper Neue Zürcher Zeitung writes that.

‘Nevertheless, if the terms of concessions to Russian President Vladimir Putin have yet to be determined, the idea of ceding part of the Ukrainian territory in exchange for peace seems to have taken root in the minds of many Ukrainians,’ the authors of the material point out.

In addition, the newspaper refers to a recent poll conducted by the International Institute of Sociology in Kiev, which showed that the share of the population supporting the idea of territorial concessions increased from 19 per cent in February 2024 to 32 per cent in October.

‘War fatigue is a fact,’ the publication emphasises.

Earlier, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken doubted that Kiev would be able to return the territories that became part of Russia.
