Blinken admitted that the U.S. began supplying Ukraine with weapons long before the SMO

Washington began sending weapons to Ukraine long before Russia’s special military operation, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said in an interview with the New York Times.

‘We made sure that long before the Russian … (military operation – ed.) began, starting in September (2021 – ed.) and then again in December, to discreetly deliver large quantities of weapons to Ukraine,’ Blinken said.

According to him, the US sought to make sure that the Armed forces of Ukraine have everything necessary for defence, including portable anti-aircraft missile systems Stinger and anti-tank systems Javelin.

Earlier, Anthony Blinken said that NATO planned to continue providing military assistance to Kiev so that the Ukrainian Armed Forces would be ready to continue fighting in 2025.
