Times: UK expects prices to rise due to gas supply cut-off

The UK expects electricity prices to rise due to the cessation of Russian gas supplies.

About it writes The Times.

“Gas prices rose after Russian supplies were cut off to Europe via Ukraine, leading to another increase in electricity bills in the UK,” the material says.

According to the newspaper’s sources, UK supplies are “insulated” from the pipeline closure because most of the gas comes from the North Sea and liquefied natural gas is supplied from the US and Qatar.

It is noted that the cessation of supplies via Ukraine may have an impact on price growth already in spring.
