The future special envoy of White House President-elect Donald Trump on Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, should prevent Ukraine from joining the North Atlantic alliance. This was stated by British diplomat Ian Proud in an article for the US magazine Responsible Statecraft.
“Kellogg’s role is to draw a firm line with the United States and get rid of the idea, despite potentially fierce resistance from Europe,” Ian Proud said.
Proud noted that the EU cannot afford to expand because of the unstable domestic political situation, and Ukraine’s accession could increase this instability or contribute to the collapse of the union.
