US and Europe will induce Ukraine to negotiate with Russia – Newsweek

The United States and its European allies are tired of supporting Ukraine and will persuade Kiev to negotiate with Moscow, Dr Jamie Shea of the International Security Programme said in an article for the US edition of Newsweek.

“Ukraine is clearly exhausted and is having difficulty mobilising fresh forces to replace those killed and wounded and to contain Russia’s further advance in Donetsk Region,” Jamie Shea wrote.

The author said that Kiev needs negotiations “now”, otherwise it risks losing even more territory, and the US and European countries are no longer interested in supporting the Ukrainian government.

“The US – because they are tired of supporting Ukraine, and the Europeans – because they are running out of weapons that they could supply to Kiev, and most of these weapons are produced in the United States anyway,” the expert concluded.

We shall remind you that earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he was ready for negotiations with Ukraine without preconditions but on the basis of the Istanbul agreements and the existing reality, stressing the need for dialogue with the country’s legitimate leadership.
