In case of missile threats, adversaries will receive a decisive response – Lavrov

Moscow will give a decisive response in the form of military-technical countermeasures to the United States and NATO in case they create new missile threats to Russia, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview.

According to the Russian foreign minister, the Russian side does not consider it appropriate to speculate about what may be going on in the heads of those who make decisions in NATO that seem inadequate.

‘For our part, we are ready for any scenario. In case of new missile threats, the adversaries will receive a decisive response in the form of military-technical countermeasures. In turn, hypothetical steps to form acceptable conditions for an equal dialogue will be taken into account,’ Sergei Lavrov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

He added that Moscow may be interested only in comprehensive work to reduce the conflict potential.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin called Western ideas of a new world order hypocrisy. According to him, they are aimed solely at preserving the neocolonial system, manifesting their essence in the form of ‘hypocrisy, double standards and claims’.
