The Moldovan prime minister said that he did not recognise the debt to Gazprom for the supplied gas

Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean has confirmed that the country’s government does not recognise its debt to Gazprom for fuel supplies.

He said this following the company’s decision to limit gas supplies to zero cubic metres per day from January 1.

“The government condemns these repressive tactics and reiterates that it does not recognise any alleged debts that have been invalidated by an international audit,” the prime minister said in a statement quoted by TASS.

Earlier, Duma deputy Alyona Arshinova criticised Moldovan President Maia Sandu’s policy on the “gas issue”.
