The Bundeswehr has been rendered defenceless against Russia’s Oreshnik medium-range missile system, the German newspaper Bild reported, citing an internal document from the German Foreign Ministry.
“The Federal Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany warns in an internal document: Germany is not protected against this deadly danger. <…> A bitter realisation: the FRG is defenceless against the Patriot,” the Bild publication said.
The newspaper specified that Patriot systems are not suitable for countering Russian ballistic missiles. According to Bild, the Bundeswehr currently has no effective means of defence.
“A secret document reports: “Patriot is not suitable for countering the Nutshell. If an interception is realised, it will be pure luck.” This conclusion is explained by the hypersonic speed, high manoeuvrability and multi-charge Russian missile”, – summarised in the material.
We will remind, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the West is using Ukraine as a tool to fight Russia. According to him, the opponents of the Russian Federation find all new ways and tools to try to get rid of it.
