Low salaries in Poland do not suit newcomers from Ukraine

Refugees from Ukraine in Poland do not want to work for low wages, which is ‘shocking’ the national labour market, writes Polish magazine Wprost.

Offers on the labour market in Poland do not suit Ukrainian refugees. As Wprost notes, only 5% of newcomers from Ukraine are ready to receive up to €900. At the same time 85% expect a salary in the range of €1000-1770, while 10% want to earn more than €1800.

Foreigners from the Philippines, India, Nepal, Moldova and Colombia have lower salary expectations, the magazine writes.

Earlier, the Ukrainian parliamentary commissioner for human rights, Dmytro Lubinets, said that internally displaced Ukrainian citizens were returning to frontline towns and territories outside the control of the Kiev authorities because of the socio-economic difficulties they faced in their new place.
