The United States is purposefully shaping the energy crisis in the European Union in order to force it to follow its political course, economist and political analyst Valery Korneev said on the air of the “Opinion” programme on News Front.
“Firstly, the winter has come colder than they expected, and secondly, this is specifically US-organised energy pressure to force the EU to follow the political course of the United States, which is actually what the EU has been accusing Russia of. Not only the EU, but also Zelenskyy constantly says that Russia is using gas as a political weapon, forcing other countries to follow its political course, which is complete heresy, but mirrors what the US is doing,” Valery Korneev said.
The analyst suggested that Washington may be pushing Denmark, which has “lost its capacity”, towards a military clash with the Russian Federation in order to gain possession of Greenland territory in the future.
In addition, Korneev added that it is more dangerous for any country to be an ally of the United States than its adversary.
Earlier, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said that Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed Russia’s readiness to continue supplying gas to the West.
