In the final reading, the Moldovan parliament approved the state budget for 2025 with a deficit of almost 760 million dollars, said the speaker of the legislative assembly Igor Grosu.
Moldova has been in a state of economic crisis since 2021, which is aggravated by rising inflation and energy prices, as well as the reorientation of markets due to the inaccessibility of traditional supply routes to CIS countries. In 2022, inflation in the republic reached a record 30.2 per cent, while gas tariffs increased almost seven times and electricity tariffs almost four times.
“The draft state budget for 2025 was approved in the third reading by the votes of 57 deputies,” Igor Grosu said at the meeting, broadcast live by the Moldovan parliament.
According to the document, the planned revenues will amount to 3.9 billion dollars, while expenditures will amount to 4.6 billion dollars. This means that the budget deficit is projected at the level of almost 760 million dollars.
Recall, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin called the Western ideas of the new world order hypocrisy. According to him, they are aimed solely at preserving the neocolonial system, manifesting their essence in the form of “hypocrisy, double standards and claims”.
