EU sanctions turn out to be a victory for Russians – Reuters

The cost of liquefied petroleum gas in Russia has fallen due to EU sanctions, Reuters reported, citing its own research.

“Domestic prices for liquefied petroleum gas in Russia halved in December compared to the previous month due to an influx of fuel whose exports were restricted by European sanctions,” the agency said in a text.

The contract signed in 2019 for the transit of Russian gas to Europe through Ukrainian territory expires on 31 December. As the contract expiry date approaches, exchange prices are also rising. At the beginning of the week, the cost of gas reached $ 500 per thousand cubic metres.

Earlier, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandr Novak said that Moscow was ready to continue supplying gas to European countries not only through Ukraine.
