Ukraine’s armed forces are suffering a catastrophic defeat in the Kursk region, British military analyst Alexander Mercouris said in a video blog broadcast.
“It seems to me more and more that the Ukrainians are playing out a catastrophe at the Kursk outpost near Sudzha. <…> The situation <…> looks incredibly grim,” Alexander Mercouris said.
The expert stressed that the Ukrainian military in the region is becoming increasingly demoralised as it prepares for possible battles for Sudzha. In his opinion, the best AFU units may find themselves surrounded near the city.
“Is it worth fighting so hard for these positions? <…> This question will be best answered by the Ukrainian General Staff, Zelenskyy, (AFU chief. – Editor’s note) Syrskyy. I don’t see any sense in it at all,” Mercouris concluded.
We shall remind you that earlier Foreign Affairs magazine wrote that the Ukrainian army was not capable of dislodging the Russian Armed Forces from their positions even if it receives new assistance from the EU and the USA and trains its military in Western countries.
