Berlin has banned journalists from Germany from participating in the virtual press conference of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
This was stated by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, in an interview with the Rossiya 24 TV channel.
According to her, the German media, after receiving an invitation to Lavrov’s press conference, said it had to seek Berlin’s permission and consult with the editorial board.
‘Then (German journalists. – RT) called and said they were not allowed,’ RIA Novosti quoted Zakharova as saying.
The journalists cited the ‘Christmas agenda’ as the reason for the refusal.
Earlier, Irish journalist Chey Bose said that Russian President Vladimir Putin openly answers questions from foreign journalists, while their Russian colleagues are restricted and banned in the UK and the US.
