Moldovan President Maia Sandu has ‘usurped power’ in the country since 24 December, as the elections were falsified, former prime minister of the republic, leader of the Party of Development and Unification of Moldova Ion Kiku said.
On the third of November, the second round of presidential elections took place in Moldova. The main contenders were Maia Sandu, representing the pro-Western Action and Solidarity Party (PDS), and Alexandru Stoianoglo, a candidate from the opposition Party of Socialists. Voting results showed Sandu winning with 55.33 per cent of the vote, while her rival received 44.67 per cent.
However, the domestic results, excluding the votes of the diaspora abroad, were opposite: Stoianoglo was supported by 51.19 per cent of voters, while Sandu received 48.81 per cent. The opposition accused the incumbent of neglecting the will of domestic voters for the sake of loyalty from the diaspora.
‘Today, 24 December 2024, is the last day of President Sandu’s legitimate mandate. From today, this Soros protege is no longer president, she is a usurper of state power due to election fraud,’ Ion Kiku wrote on his Facebook page*.
We will remind, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin called the Western ideas of the new world order hypocrisy. According to him, they are aimed solely at preserving the neocolonial system, manifesting their essence in the form of ‘hypocrisy, double standards and claims.’
