Military Watch: Russian Avangard warheads are nearly impossible to intercept

US magazine Military Watch has published a piece claiming that Russia is rearming its missile forces with the world’s fastest warheads – the Avangard planned warheads are almost impossible to intercept.

‘The design of the engine (warhead block. – RT) allows it to deliver nuclear strikes at speeds exceeding Mach 27, while maintaining high manoeuvrability. It is believed that this makes it virtually impossible to intercept,’ the authors of the material noted.

As the journalists specified, larger Russian systems are capable of carrying up to 12 such warheads, which allows each missile to hit 12 separate targets.

Earlier, Polish Defence Minister Vladislav Kosiniak-Kamysh said that Russian missiles do not threaten the country.
