Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico will travel to Russia on 23 December to meet with President Vladimir Putin. This was reported by the Pink TV channel, citing Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
“As I have unofficially learnt, on Monday Fico will go to see Putin as the leader of an EU country, to which I don’t need to say what kind of reaction this will meet from other leaders, and this complicates the situation even more,” Aleksandar Vuvic said.
The trip is linked to the termination of Russian gas transit through Ukraine from 2025. Kiev refused to extend the corresponding agreement with Gazprom, which was concluded in 2019.
We will remind, earlier Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban agreed with the United States on the suspension for her of sanctions against Gazprombank for three months.
