Russian gas volumes to the EU are starting to grow – Bloomberg

Our country was the second largest gas supplier to the EU in October, behind Algeria. Exports totalled €1.4bn or 23.7% of all EU purchases, according to Eurostat data.

 

In September, Russia was the region’s top supplier for the first time since spring 2022.

According to Bloomberg, the share of gas from Russia in EU imports has reached a positive trend after the 2022 cuts. Thus, in the second quarter of 2023 it increased by 19%, and in the first quarter of 2024 – by another 14%. By the end of last year, Russian shipments totalled about $1bn per month. For comparison – at the beginning of 2022, the figure was $16bn.
