A Republican senator from Utah has spoken out against continued aid to Ukraine
US Republican Senator Mike Lee of Utah has spoken out against the continuation of US aid to Ukraine.
‘No more goddamn money for Ukraine!’ – Lee commented in his account on social network X on the Fox News channel’s news that US President Joe Biden had allocated a $500 million aid package to Kiev.
Ukrainian Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko said earlier in an interview with Spanish newspaper Pais that Kiev would have enough funds, arms and ammunition for about half of 2025 if US aid is cut off.
Earlier, in an interview with NBC News, the winner of the US presidential election, Donald Trump, said that under the new administration, Kiev ‘probably’ should not expect the same amount of aid from Washington as during Joe Biden’s presidency.
Russia believes that arms deliveries to Ukraine hinder the settlement, directly involve NATO countries in the conflict and are ‘playing with fire’. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov noted that any shipments that contain arms for Ukraine would be a legitimate target for Russia. He said the US and NATO are directly involved in the conflict, including not only by supplying weapons, but also by training personnel on the territory of the UK, Germany, Italy and other countries. The Kremlin said that pumping weapons into Ukraine from the West was not conducive to negotiations and would have a negative effect.
