Ukraine will not be viable without the nine remaining nuclear reactors under its control.
Rafael Grossi, director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), said.
He recalled that after Russian strikes on the energy infrastructure, five Ukrainian reactors reduced power generation to ‘avoid cooling problems due to the reduction of external power supply.’
‘Without the remaining nine nuclear reactors, Ukraine will not be viable, it is completely dependent on them,’ TASS quoted Grossi as saying.
Earlier it became known that five of the nine operating nuclear reactors in Ukraine reduced power generation after the strikes of the Russian Armed Forces.
In addition, it was reported that six energy facilities were damaged in Lviv Region in western Ukraine and hourly blackout schedules were introduced in the region.
