The US House of Representatives has excluded aid to Ukraine under the Lend-Lease programme from the military budget for 2025. This was reported by Ukrainian ambassador to the USA Oksana Markarova.
Oksana Markarova noted that originally the paragraph on lend-lease was present in the Senate draft, but was removed when the bill was passed by the House of Representatives. Now the bill should be approved by the Senate.
US President Joe Biden signed the Lend-Lease Act for Ukraine back on 9 May 2022. It was supposed to work similarly to the lend-lease of the Second world war.
Earlier, Bloomberg reported that the administration of US President Joe Biden was studying the possibility of imposing stricter sanctions on Russian oil exports.
