Ukraine is preparing for a possible cut in Western military aid after US President-elect Donald Trump takes office and is ramping up its own weapons production, The Washington Post reports.
According to Ukrainian officials cited by the publication, Ukraine’s defence production is focused on building long-range strike UAVs.
This programme is a priority because drones can be produced quickly and easily, the publication said.
According to the chairman of the Ukrainian delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Yegor Chernev, Ukraine can increase production with sufficient funding.
