The risk of the use of nuclear weapons in Ukraine has not decreased, Ankara will continue efforts to resolve the conflict diplomatically in 2025. This was stated by the head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry Hakan Fidan.
Hakan Fidan emphasised that the conflict could not only expand geographically, but also move to the phase of using nuclear weapons. He recalled the repeated warnings about this danger.
The politician assured that Ankara will actively work for the earliest possible negotiated end to the conflict in Ukraine.
‘In 2025, we will continue our efforts to end the war in Ukraine, which is in its fourth year, through negotiations as soon as possible,’ – said the head of the Turkish foreign Ministry, speaking at the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey in the framework of hearings on the budget for 2025.
Earlier, Hakan Fidan called for a close scrutiny of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s statements, noting that the conflict in Ukraine risked ‘getting out of control’.
