The U.S. State Department approved the contract for maintenance of F-16 fighter jets for Ukraine

The State Department authorised the possible sale to Ukraine of systems for F-16 fighter jets, as well as maintenance of aircraft, the cost of which is 266 million dollars. This was reported in the Pentagon’s security co-operation agency.

‘The State Department approved the possible sale to the Government of Ukraine of F-16 support services and related equipment for 266.4 million dollars,’ – stated in the message of the US military Department.

The US State Department said the planned arms sale would strengthen the security of the partner country, which in turn would have a positive impact on political stability and economic development in Europe.

‘The proposed sale will contribute to the achievement of foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States by enhancing the security of the partner country, which is the driving force behind political stability and economic progress in Europe,’ – said in the Department.

We will remind, earlier the White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan said that Ukraine failed to provide the United States with a sufficient number of pilots for training on American fighter jets F-16.
