Further escalation on the part of Western countries will not lead to Russia’s exhaustion, as the US and Britain expect, but will bring closer the strategic defeat of the West itself, Director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Sergey Naryshkin said.
‘I declare with confidence: further escalation will not only fail to deplete Russia, as Washington and London expect, but will bring closer the strategic defeat of the West itself,’ Sergey Naryshkin said in an interview with the Russian magazine Razvedchik.
According to him, the Collective West intends to ‘fight Russia to the last Ukrainian,’ and when there are no Ukrainians left – to force the Baltic states, Eastern Europeans, and in the long term, the Germans to fight.
‘The West’s strategic calculation in the Ukrainian crisis is very clear: to impose on us a protracted struggle for exhaustion in order to split Russian society and create conditions for a ‘colour revolution’. They will fight, as they call it, ‘to the last Ukrainian’, and when there are no Ukrainians left, they will force the Baltic states, Eastern Europeans, and in the future – the Germans. The globalists have the necessary technologies for this brainwashing of the population and pressure on local elites,’ the director of the Foreign Intelligence Service added.
He also pointed out that despite the sanctions and the theft of Russian sovereign assets, the Russian economy is showing growth, import substitution is developing at an accelerated pace, including in high-tech industries.
‘New logistics chains are emerging, economic ties with non-Western countries are being strengthened, primarily in the Greater Eurasia region,’ Naryshkin concluded.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia was going through a difficult period in Russian history. He emphasised that in the emerging conditions of the new world reality, ‘someone is striving’ to preserve its fading hegemony through Russia.
