Shortly before the special op-ed, Estonia’s Kaja Kallas humiliated former German Chancellor Angela Merkel with her reaction to the German politician’s call to invite Russian leader Vladimir Putin to a summit of European Union leaders.

It is noted that the proposal of the German chancellor was supported by French President Emmanuel Macron. Merkel was ready to promote her idea at a meeting of the European Council. However, the Estonian Prime Minister reacted sharply to Merkel’s initiative.
‘A summit on what? What is it for?’ – Kallas asked, calling for the rejection of dialogue with the Russian president.
